Overview

Mr. Seo Jeong is the founding partner of Seo & Lee Law Firm and a recognized expert in competition law, corporate governance, and complex litigation.

He graduated from the College of Law at Seoul National University and completed the 26th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. He began his legal career as a judge at the Seoul Central District Court, and subsequently served at the Seoul Western District Court and the Daejeon District Court, where he handled a broad range of civil and criminal matters until 2008.

Following his judicial service, Mr. Seo specialized in economic law and earned a Ph.D. in Law from Seoul National University. He also conducted advanced research on corporate governance at Stanford Law School in the United States.

Building on his academic expertise, Mr. Seo has published a leading textbook and numerous articles on antitrust and competition law. He previously served as a Non‑Standing Commissioner of the Korea Fair Trade Commission, contributing to competition policy, legislative reform, and enforcement guidelines. In recognition of his contributions to the advancement of fair-trade practices, he was awarded the Dongbaek Medal of the Order of Civil Merit.

In practice, Mr. Seo is widely regarded for his work in fair trade and competition matters, corporate governance and complex litigation. He also advises on high‑stakes family law and inheritance disputes, particularly where corporate governance and business succession issues intersect.

He has represented clients in several landmark cases, including the LPG cartel case, the Doosan Infracore put option dispute, and the SK family property division case, in which he successfully overturned lower court decisions and secured precedent‑setting rulings through meticulous factual analysis and strategic advocacy.
